Pavlovsk, Imperial city.

History of Pavlovsk as a tremendous palace-park has started in 1777, when Catherine II has presented a small peace of land, at the south of Czarskoe Selo ( Tzars village, city Pushkin), to her son Pavel and his wife Maria to celebrate a birth of their first son, future imperior Alexander the First. Pavlovsk is different from the rest of Russian cities. Back in time royal family used it for hunting and family vacations in summer times. Many tourist who come to visit Russia and people who live in St. Petersburg come here for a sightseeing and rest, just like tzars of the past.

Big Pavlovsk Pallace (that is an original name of it) was build by progect of scotland architect Charles Cameron, and is a central part of park agglomerations in Pavlovsk. The most famous halls of pallace are the front bedroom, Italian, Greece halls. Parks around are decorated with sculptures and pavilions. If you decided to go to Russia travel to this city must be in your list. Pavlovsk main park is one of the biggest in Europe, its size is more then 600 square hectare.

Tourist who visit Russia and staing in St. Petersburg hotels can take a tour to Pavlovsk, it is only an hour away from a city. Visitors can walk around the bedrooms of Maria and Pavel, explore the original czars life. It is definitely a mast seen place.
